DTI Launches 2021 Hybrid National Food Fair with Digital Mall Opening
DTI Launches 2021 Hybrid National Food
Fair with Digital Mall Opening
Combining
the reach and flexibility of digital market platforms with the excitement of a
traditional physical event, the Department of Trade and Industry - Bureau of Domestic
Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP) has conceptualized a year-long program of activities
that would promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in the
food industry. This is the 2021 Hybrid National Food Fair, which consists of
virtual components such as the series of online events culminating in a
physical food fair towards the end of the year.
To
formally launch the 2021 Hybrid National Food Fair, a virtual ceremony will be
held on September 17 via the BDTP Facebook page. This will also mark the
officially opening of the National Food Fair Digital Mall hosted on UnionBank
GlobalLinker, which will serve as the permanent e-commerce platform for food
entrepreneurs from the country's 16 regions. For starters, 836 food products
from 108 MSMEs will be showcased in the National Food Fair Digital Mall.
The
official opening ceremony will be led by Director Marievic Bonoan of the Bureau
of Domestic Trade Promotion, Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman of the DTI Trade
Promotions Group and Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona of the DTI Regional
Operations Group. Representing UnionBank GlobalLinker at the event is Jose
Paulo Soliman, Vice President and SME Segments Head, Customer Experience Group.
The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the BDTP Facebook
page on Friday, September 17, at 9:00 am.
The
formal opening kicks off a 10-day program which will include business talks and
webinars, cooking demos, a wine mixing show, product showcases, daily raffle
draws, and many others. From September 17 to 26, the public can join the online
events by signing up through Zoom or on Facebook.
The
year-long 2021 Hybrid National Food Fair has been an on-going series of activities,
all geared to nurture and sustain food entrepreneurs by expanding their market
presence. Some of the activities held earlier this year include:
·
MSME Webinar Series to
help the participants prepare for the 2021 Hybrid National Food Fair and equip
them with skills to hurdle new challenges in growing their business. The
webinar series was conducted by the Philippine Trade Training Center via Zoom and Facebook Live last May 5 to 7,
2021, and reached 24,200 views on social media.
·
Shopee hosted its Online
National Food Fair last May, featuring thousands of products from MSME Stores
and the Go Lokal Official Store.
·
Last August, the Lazada Love Local 8.8
Sale included participating MSMEs from 13 regions nationwide and promoted
Philippine cuisine with livestream cooking demos from Chef Oliver John Gomez,
through the Center for Culinary Arts.
·
Meanwhile, Mayani.ph, a farm-to-table
e-commerce platform is another venue for the Online National Food Fair,
featuring fresh vegetables, fruits, and upland crops of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Contingent
on community safety guidelines, a physical National Food Fair to be held in a
mall setting is also part of the 2021 program, to bring back the hustle and
bustle of face-to-face buying and selling. Participating exhibitors will offer
a variety of food products, including processed food and beverages, fresh
produce and organic products, fresh and dried seafood, cooked food, halal
products and cuisine, condiments and other cooking ingredients, dairy products,
health and wellness products, food supplements, traditional cooking
tools/equipment, food packaging materials and allied products, baskets and
bayongs, labeling and food processing equipment, and even label and packaging
design services.
The 2021 Hybrid
National Food Fair is organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
through the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) and with support from the
DTI-Regional Operations Group (ROG).

5 Easy Ways to Maximize Your Money When You Start Your Holiday Shopping at Shopee’s Sep 15 Payday Sale
Get into a festive mood with free shipping, 50% bills cashback, and ₱150 off vouchers
It’s already September, and you know what that means—the beloved and uniquely Filipino tradition of counting down to Christmas Day has begun! Aside from setting up our lights and trees, listening to festive jingles, and planning (virtual) reunions once the -ber months set in, we’ve also made it a habit to gear up for some intense early holiday shopping. After all, Filipinos are known not just for our love of Christmas, but for our generous spirit as well.
During these times, it’s more important than ever to spread joy to friends and family. If you’re wondering how to do so safely and conveniently without breaking the bank, read on for a few holiday shopping tips that you can use at Shopee’s upcoming Sep 15 Payday Sale:
Take advantage of Shopee’s multiple monthly sales
To score major price drops and deep discounts, make sure to schedule your holiday shopping around sales. Mark your calendar during Shopee’s payday sales every 15th and 30th of the month. Each sale has its own exciting perks and promos that will make shopping more exciting and rewarding. At the upcoming Sep 15 Payday Sale, for instance, you can enjoy promos such as free shipping with no minimum spend, 50% bills cashback exclusively with ShopeePay, and ₱150 off vouchers.
Shop at midnight
Worried about missing out on vouchers? Get first dibs on the best promos by shopping at midnight. Add all the items to your cart beforehand, log on to your Shopee app from 12:00 to 2:00 AM, and check out with your vouchers. You can go to bed and sleep soundly knowing you scored the best deals.
Stack your vouchers
For you to get your money’s worth, you have to get yourself fully acquainted with the app’s features. Always check your home page and click on icons such as Free Shipping and Cashback for vouchers you can collect. Then stack these vouchers upon checking out for even bigger discounts. Remember to diligently check the voucher terms and conditions.
Follow your favorite brands in-app
Eyeing that brand-new smartphone for dad or that luxurious skincare set for mom? Head on over to your favorite brand’s page on Shopee Mall and hit that “Follow” button to receive announcements about new products, exclusive discounts, flash sales, and more. Make sure your notifications are turned on. Otherwise, someone else might just beat you to those deals!
Pay with ShopeePay for great savings on load, bills, and essentials
For more savings, here’s a handy little hack: use ShopeePay, an all-in-one e-wallet that you can use to Buy Load, Pay Bills, and Scan to Pay at thousands of merchants nationwide. Avail of promos such as up to 50% off on mobile load; up to 50% bills cashback when you pay your bills at Meralco, Maynilad, PLDT, Globe, and more; and ShopeePay ₱1 Deals for Puregold, Seaoil, Potato Corner, and many more when you scan to pay in-store. JOHNSON’S® launches upgraded Milk+Rice range through Powerville, providing #PoweredUpProtection for growing babies
JOHNSON’S®
launches upgraded Milk+Rice range through Powerville, providing
#PoweredUpProtection for growing babies
Many parents consider their babies turning one year old a milestone to be celebrated. It marks their entry into a new age and stage in their childhood– the toddler stage. This stage is especially exciting for first-time parents– as they witness a lot of firsts in their babies’ growth and development. Toddlers in this stage of development are significantly more mobile compared to when they were infants. These growing babies are now able to crawl, climb, and even begin to walk, leaving parents trailing behind and worried about their baby’s skin. Babies’ skin is one of the causes of concern as they become more adventurous because their toddlers are now beginning to encounter different surfaces with the uncertainty of how their skin would react. With this, moms are looking for the best way to provide the protection their babies’ developing skin needs.
JOHNSON’S® Baby, as the leading brand for childcare products, provides the best solution for protecting growing babies’ skin through its newly upgraded Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion. The reformulation calls for 100% more milk proteins and real rice extracts that protect, so when used together, both Bath and Lotion create a gentle layer of protection on baby’s skin against skin microdamage– which is characterized by dryness causing redness and irritation. The company launched the reformulation of the Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion through its campaign, #PoweredUpProtection, which centers around the kulit-likot phase of toddlers and growing babies. The campaign features celebrity mombassador Anne Curtis and her daughter Dahlia, who both appeared in their first TV Commercial with JOHNSON’S® Baby.
The campaign launched with its virtual event called the
JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Powerville that unveiled and celebrated the reformulated
range with our partner Mombassador communities, media partners, as well as the public‑--it
was the brand’s first ever activation of its kind. Crismer Tiria, senior marketing
manager at Johnson & Johnson Philippines Inc., remarked, “Our team was
excited to open the gates to JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Powerville. We wanted the
brand to adapt to how events are done these days to still reach our audiences who
are mostly staying at home.”
Anne was able to share her excitement for the campaign and the launch event itself, “I couldn’t be happier when I learned that I would be taking part in my JOHNSON’S® family’s first virtual event of its kind. I hope that all my fellow moms were able to know more about how they can best take care of their little ones and of course, had fun.”
Guests were able to explore the different spots in the
digital town from their personal devices. Among the spots of Powerville was the
Pavilion, where they were able to watch celebrity mombassador Anne Curtis engaging
in a dialogue with head of Scientific Engagement for Baby Care APAC Robert Kwon,
and Dr. Marivi Dizon, a pediatric dermatologist. They talked about the
importance of providing the #PoweredUpProtection toddlers need, as well as
letting the audience know more about the upgraded Milk+Rice formula.
Robert Kwon explained the motivation behind the new formula,
“Johnson’s Baby has always been the leading brand for baby care because of our
efforts to innovate and improve our products. We constantly conduct studies and
research to make sure that our products are the best quality and designed for
babies. Our highlight product for today, the new Johnson’s Milk+Rice contains
100% more milk proteins than the previous product, that can help nourish skin,
plus real rice extracts that can help protect.” He introduced the Milk+Rice
products as the solution to combatting the common threats of skin microdamage,
while Dr. Marivi explained more about what these are. “Skin microdamage means
that there is an effect on babies’ skin coming from impact or friction, even if
we don’t visibly see the damage on their skin. As the term suggests, this is
more evident when we look closely on a tissue level or under a special
microscope. This can differ for every baby. For some, this can look like red
patches on their knees or elbows because of crawling. Some babies also
experience this as having flaky and dry skin from the lack of moisturization.
There are also other cases that manifest irritation through rashes.”
Moms were also able to
experience various fun activities found in different booths, such as the Play
Area and Mom & Baby Photobooth. They visited the Neighbormoms area and heard
what their fellow moms had to say about the new Bath and Lotion and the kulit-likot
stage. The event also made purchasing the new product more convenient and
accessible as e-commerce platforms were linked.
JOHNSON’S® Baby senior marketing manager Crismer Tiria expressed
his gratitude to all the loyal consumers and guests present at the event. “On
behalf of our team, I would like to thank everyone for joining us at JOHNSON’S®
Baby Milk+Rice Powerville. I am so excited for mothers and parents to see what
we have in store for the rest of the campaign, and hope that their unwavering
support to the JOHNSON’S® Baby brand continues on.”
The upgraded JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion are
available in J&J PH Chat & Shop, all leading supermarkets, and official Johnson
& Johnson Shopee and Lazada accounts. To know more about the new JOHNSON’S®
Milk+Rice formula and to get more tips
on toddlers’ skincare, visit https://johnsonsbaby.com.ph, like JOHNSON’S® Baby PH on
