Manila, Philippines – For decades, JOHNSON’S® has been and will always be committed to providing only the best and gentlest care for babies and kids. In a move to #ChooseGentle and extend gentleness to mothers and newborn babies in critical need, JOHNSON’S® launched a partnership with Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. to provide 3,600 maternity kits to mothers and babies in partner hospitals and birthing centers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

With the support of everyone who purchased JOHNSON’S® products from Mercury Drug stores nationwide, JOHNSON’S® and Mercury Drug Foundation formally turned over 1,500 maternity kits to Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital on November 19.
JOHNSON’S® Baby South East Asia Marketing Director Maimai Punzalan shared the inspiration behind the ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy.
“2019 marks an important milestone for JOHNSON’S® as we’ve re-launched our gentlest range of products for babies and kids. As we celebrate this milestone, we also remember the bigger reason behind our advocacy,” shared JOHNSON’S® Baby South East Asia Marketing Director Maimai Punzalan. “In today’s world where babies and kids are becoming more exposed to harshness, JOHNSON’S® ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy stems from the need to help build a better, gentler world where every child can thrive.”
With the shared vision of helping improve the lives of Filipino families nationwide, the ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy marks a milestone in the partnership of JOHNSON’S® and Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of Mercury Drug Corporation.

Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital Public Relations Officer Dr. Antoinette Pacapac thanked JOHNSON’S® and Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. for choosing Fabella as one of the beneficiaries for its ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy.
“Since Mercury Drug Foundation’s inception in 1983, our organization has been committed to promoting and advancing the health and well-being of Filipino families in the most vulnerable communities. The ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy upholds this very commitment and we are pleased to work with JOHNSON’S® towards helping build a healthy nation,” said Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Annie Fuentes.

JOHNSON’S® advocate John Prats also shared how the ‘Choose Gentle’ advocacy is close to his heart as a father. “With two children now, alam ko gaano kahirap ang pinagdadaanan ng mga nanay habang nanganganak. Saludo ako sa kanilang lahat.”
Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital is among the six beneficiary hospitals and birthing centers nationwide to receive maternity kits that aim to help newborns and their mothers within the critical first few weeks. The kits contain toiletry items, garments, and the all-new JOHNSON’S® CottonTouch™. Clinically proven mild and safe from the first day of life, CottonTouch™ is JOHNSON’S® best hypoallergenic care especially designed for newborn sensitive skin.
